Sofia Tolis, who lives and works in Stockholm, holds a master's degree in Fine Arts from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design and has also attended the Biskops Arnö Writing School. As the daughter of a Swedish mother and a Greek father, her artistic and literary world has often encompassed a vast landscape of places to inhabit and draw inspiration from. She uses language as well as image and sculpture in her way of expressing herself. Tolis has had several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Sweden and internationally. She has also had a large number of texts published in art books, anthologies, literary magazines, and cultural magazines, beginning in 1992 in the Ordfront magazine with the short prose text Four Empty Chairs.
